Hosting & Support Options

Running a small business is not always easy. Whether you are a solo entrepreneur or have a staff, there is always an abundance of things to do and not always enough time to do all of it.

Keeping a website updated and functioning properly – safely, securely, quickly – can be challenging. Site hacks, breakages, and content or performance issues are a reality any website owner has to juggle. The Research Department is pleased to offer two support packages to help manage these issues.

If you have any questions about the package details or want to discuss your website specifically, please feel free to contact me to set up a complimentary discovery phone call.

Support & Hosting Packages

WordPress is an awesome, powerful, and overall great platform to use for a website.  It also needs a little TLC – Technical Love & Care – to keep things stable and secure.  Plugins are the vital pieces that make a WordPress website look great, work properly and stay secure.  There are hundreds of thousands of plug-ins and they are being updated regularly by their developers (we hope!) to add new features, fix software bugs and close any security gaps.

Realistically, a few times each month, you should be checking for available updates, executing them, and making sure that nothing has ‘broken’ on your site.  Most of the time these updates take a few minutes each week.  If you are into a DIY project, awesome!  Then Tier 1 is for you.  👏

If you would prefer someone else to keep an eye on the plug-in updates (and any others that need to be run for other parts of the Website) and deal with any potential plug-in conflicts (hey, it happens), then Tier 2 is for you.

Plus, Tier 2 provides 60-minutes of support time each month to take care of content updates on your site.  🥳👨‍💻

Plans can be billed monthly or annually.

Important:  This is for hosting services only.  You will still need to maintain your domains/URLs (e.g. yourcompany.com) at whatever provider you are using (called a registrar) like GoDaddy, Network Soutions, Register.com, Ionos or NameCheap.  You must check those accounts at least twice a year to ensure the contact and payment information is current.  If your credit card is compromised, stolen, or replaced, you have to update this information on your registrar.  If your account lapses or is canceled or you don’t get (or read) a notification about an issue with your account, your email and website can go offline and recovery can be very problematic.

*Content updates do not include design changes or functionality features. Time spent on updates beyond the allotted time will be billed at our hourly rate ($150/hour) in 15-minute increments. Unused time does not roll over to the following month.
